Burnham Dolls House Group’s annual display goes on show in town

-

A unique exhibition showcasing the work of a group of Burnham-On-Sea dolls house makers has opened in the town this week.

A miniature scene of a group of travellers has been created by members of Burnham Dolls House Group and is on show in the window of Material Needs in Burnham High Street.

“The display has taken seven people almost a year to put together and features five caravans in a tiny travellers scene,” the group’s Ann Nicholls told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“A lot of work has gone into each item and we’re delighted to have our work on show in Material Needs until October 7th – many thanks to them for their support.”

The tiny items were built by the club’s members using cardboard, lolly sticks, match sticks and wood veneer and decorated using acrylic paint and card stick-ons. They were worked to a 1/12 scale.

Burnham Dolls House Group has been running for seven years and was founded by Liz Bloxham and held its first exhibition in 2006. The club is open to newcomers and meets fortnightly every second Wednesday in Brean Methodist Hall at 7pm.
