Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Foodbank given a £1,100 boost

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Foodbank has been handed a big boost thanks to a group of local Freemasons this week.

The Royal Philanthropic Lodge of Freemasons in Burnham-On-Sea raised £1,100 at its recent Ladies Festival.

The money has been used to provide basic goods for the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Foodbank that is run by local churches and supported by the Trussell Trust.

The food was handed over at Burnham’s Tesco store on Monday afternoon (December 12th), as pictured here.

“There are many people in very stressful situations, through no fault of their own, who would not be able to provide food for their families without this facility,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“In normal circumstances, this is a tragedy, but made even worse at Christmas.”

“It is hoped that our contribution will go a small way in helping to provide food on the table for the most needy of our community and help to give some meaning to the expression ‘Festive Season’.”
