Dog walkers in Highbridge’s Apex Park have this week been warned that additional dog warden patrols are being carried out in response to concerns about the amount of dog waste that is not being picked up.
Sedgemoor District Council Dog warden Tina Kick, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There are many responsible dog walkers who exercise their dogs in Apex Park who pick up after their pets.”
“However, there are a few who spoil things by not clearing up and we have put in extra patrols to help combat the problem.”
“Any one seen not picking up after their dogs will face an on-the-spot fixed penalty fine of £75.”
“Failure to pay the fixed penalty notice can result in those responsible being prosecuted for the offence with a maximum fine of £1,000.”
Residents who require further information about dog fouling enforcement should contact Sedgemoor’s Dog Warden on 0845 408 2540.
