Burnham-On-Sea birthday girl Winifred Morse celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday (May 3rd) with a visit from the Mayor and the owner of Burnham Pavilion, which is also 100 years old this year.
Winifred received her greetings card from The Queen and enjoyed a visit from Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox and Louise Parkin, manager at Burnham’s Pavilion.
The centenarian – who has lived in Burnham for 22 years – said the visit was a “wonderful surprise” and added that the arrival of her card made her day extra special.
She revealed the secret to a long life is “eating plain, healthy food, keeping active and having lots of good friends around you.”
“Many peope say I don’t look 100, which is lovely,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com “I do a lot of jigsaws to keep my mind active and have lots of contact with my family.”
Winifred celebrated her special day with a new hair do and a special meal with her son-in-law.
