Pupils at a Burnham-On-Sea school have been congratulated for doing their bit in helping to stamp out dog fouling in the town.
Youngsters at St Joseph’s School have produced a series of posters aimed at raising awareness of the problem around their school.
Burnham’s MP Tessa Munt and the Vice-Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, Councillor Ian Dyer, have this week presented the pupils with certificates to thank them.
The school was supported by Sedgemoor District Council in their campaign to raise awareness of dog owners not ‘picking up the poo’.
Councillor Ian Dyer said: “I am full of admiration for what the school has been doing – dog fouling is a problem that is entirely preventable.”
MP Tessa Munt told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The children are to be congratulated for producing these posters and trying to prevent this happening.”
