New counselling service launches in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge

-

A new counselling service for the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area aimed at 11-19 year olds has been launched this month.

Joanne Last, a professional children and young people’s counsellor, has launched the new service.

She has worked with young people for over nine years in education and training and has supported many young people, one to one, facing various difiiculities.

“I recognise there is a need in the area, across Somerset, for young people facing difficulties, in regards to anxiety, self harm, depression, and more,” she says.

“I am happy to meet parents of children first to meet at their home intially and would be happy to discuss any queries by phone, email or via my Facebook page. I have two children myself and have worked with young people and children in care over the years.”

“The issues I can help with include self harm, substance misuse, anxiety and depression, school/college, bereavement or loss, family relationships, bullying, emotional difficulties and gender identity and sexuality.”

“I have an up to date DBS certificate and training at Level 2 in safeguarding.”

“I offer a confidential and non-judgmental service, working in the Burnham, Highbridge and Sedgemooor area and am available Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm and weekends are also available. I would recommend starting with a block of six sessions.”

Bookings are by appointment only and sessions cost £35 per hourly session. A six session block booking would be £189 (10% discount applied). A twelve session block booking would be £359 (15% discount applied). Email Jo at onsidecounselling@outlook.com for more details.
