Two worthy causes in the Burnham-On-Sea area are hoping local people will back their battle for funds, by voting for them in a high street bank’s grant awards scheme.
Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre and the East Huntspill Sports Pavilion Project are hoping supporters will log onto the NatWest Community Force website between now and 23rd October to boost their chances of a cash donation.
Secret World founder Pauline Kidner (pictured) says the grant would be used towards the cost of funding a new Education Officer plus providing the materials they’ll need to develop and deliver wildlife learning to schools as part of a new ‘Kids Go Wild’ education project.
Meanwhile, East Huntspill Sports Pavilion Project is also in the running for the grant and says if it is successful the money would be used as a contribution towards the provision of services – electric, water and main sewerage – for the village’s proposed new sports pavilion.
The NatWest scheme offers three charities in each of region up to £6,000, but only the top three in terms of votes are considered.
