Burnham’s Trinity Close Xmas lights raised final record total of £13,329

-

A Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac’s display of over 100,000 twinkling Christmas lights raised a record total of £13,329 for charity.

The five-week display in Trinity Close attracted crowds of visitors who generously dug deep to raise a record sum.

The collection, which exceeded last year’s total of £11,688, will be split between PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust and Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue, which operates the town’s rescue hovercrafts.

Trinity Close resident Roger Flower said the residents have this week switched off the lights and begun the huge task of taking down the lights.

Roger told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted that the lights raised a record amount. We thank all those who came along over the five weeks to see the display and to support these two charities.”

He said £10,219 of the amount would go to BARB with the remainder allocated to PETAL. The display has raised a huge total of more than £85,000 since the charity collections started over ten years ago.
