A fundraising film screening will be held at Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema this evening (Tuesday, November 1st) in aid of the town’s Christmas lights fund.
The blockbuster Jurassic Park will be shown during a special gala night at the cinema in Victoria Street at 6.30pm.
Proceeds from the event will help Burnham Chamber of Trade install this year’s festive illuminations across the town centre, which have been hit by a fall in council grant funding.
Tickets cost £8 each and include a portion of popcorn and ice cream plus a finger buffet in the Ritz Social Club afterwards.
Organiser Jonathan Walter from Burnham Chamber Of Trade told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “If you haven’t seen this film on the big screen you won’t be disappointed.”
“The Chamber of Trade thanks the cinema’s owners, Pat and Beryl Scott, for organising this opportunity to raise money to pay for this year’s Christmas lights.”
“During these difficult financial times, local councils and voluntary organisations like the Burnham Chamber of Trade need to all work together to keep our town vibrant and shops sustainable.”
“The new Ritz Club Chairman Paul Hale and his committee have also kindly donated a free finger buffet at the club after the film screening which ensures all money raised will go towards the event.”
Tickets can be bought by calling the cinema on 01278 794123.
