Burnham-On-Sea Library has this week reinstated a microfilm reader for the use of local researchers.
The reader was removed last year as part of a number of changes, but has been reintroduced thanks to the efforts of The North Sedgemoor Local History Group and library staff.
The reader was re-launched on Thursday (May 15th) during a coffee morning, as pictured here.
“Customers interested in researching local history and ancestry can now look at local newspapers from the 1800s to the present day using the microfilm reader and also browse a collection of local history books,” a library spokesman told Burnham-on-Sea.com.
“We at the library would like to thank John Strickland from the The North Sedgemoor Local History Group and his colleagues for all the work they have put in to have this useful service back in Burnham Library.”
