A pregnant woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of this vehicle after a serious accident caused major delays on the M5 motorway near Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday afternoon (August 10th).

These were the scenes on the motorway at 4pm as fire crews, police and paramedics from Burnham were called to a two car collision.

The accident led to very long delays on the northbound carriageway of the M5, as pictured below, between junction 22 at Burnham-On-Sea and junction 21 at Weston-super-Mare. Traffic was also very slow though Highbridge as traffic was diverted along the A38.
