Brean Down cafe and shop to close for £30,000 refurbishment

-

The National Trust is temporarily closing its shop and cafe at Brean Down for a month while it gives the property a £30,000 refurbishment.

The well-used facilities at the foot of Brean Down will close from October 30th for a period of around four weeks while the work is undertaken.

Manager Jason Harmer told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We’re taking advantage of the quieter autumn period to carry out a number of improvements, including introducing a brand new coffee counter and updated internal decorations.”

It is exactly a year since the National Trust took over the facilities, as Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here.

A new visitor centre has recently opened in the car park, providing information about the history of the rocky outcrop.

And a rebrand of the shop is also being planned with more focus on National Trust branded merchandise.
