Computer equipment stolen from the Burnham Area Youth Centre is set to be replaced by the district council.
Burnham-On-Sea.com was first to report earlier this month how the Burnham Area Youth Centre in Casis Close had been broken into on Saturday August 9th.
Sedegemoor District Council said on Monday it would be donating equipment to the club via its three-year recycling replacement programme.
News of the donation came during Monday night’s town council meeting, when town councillors hit out at the thieves who had smashed a window to gain entry to the premises (pictured) before making off with a large quantity of PC equipment.
“The people that would do this are nothing more than mindless idiots,” said Cllr Ken Smout.
“When there are many youngsters doing good in the town, and using this facility, it’s a disgrace that this has happened.”
The BAY Centre’s deputy chairman, Mike Lang, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are very grateful for the kind offers of support and equipment.”
Police are still appealing for anyone with information about the break-in to contact them via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
