Voters in the Burnham area go to the polls today in European Elections

-

Residents in the Burnham-On-Sea area are going to the polls today (Thursday) to cast their votes in the European Elections.

Across the Burnham area, voters will be able to choose between candidates in the South West region representing eight parties – the Conservatives, English Democrats, Greens, Labour, Lib Dems, UK Independence Party, British National Party and An Independence from Europe. The full list of candidates is available here.

Within the Sedgemoor area, votes will be verified (but not counted) from 10pm tonight at Bridgwater Town Hall while the count itself will take place from 4pm on Sunday 25th May.

The results for all voting regions across the South West will then be sent to Poole Borough Council, which is the co-ordinating authority for the South West, where they will be combined to produce one definitive set of results for the entire South West region. The results are expected to be announced at approximately midnight on Sunday, May 25th.
