-

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater were called out in the early hours of this morning (Friday) to tackle a blaze at a shop in Brean.

Firefighters rushed to Warren Road, Brean, at 3.20am to reports of a fire at the Surf and Leisure shop near Warren Farm holiday park.

“On arrival at the incident crews reported a smoke logged building which was a shop with a flat above,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Crews used two breathing apparatus, a hosereel jet and a safety jet to extinguish the fire.”

“Western Power were requested to attend to isolate electrics as the fire involved the internal fuse board. Fire safety advice was given to the occupants. Damage was fortunately only minor.”
