These were the scenes in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday morning (May 31st) as fire crews tackled a car blaze.
Burnham’s Tesco roundabout in Love Lane was partially closed at 11.30am as firefighters extinguished the blazing vehicle.
A family inside the Vauxhall Omega managed to escape before the flames took hold, as pictured here.
Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze, which left the vehicle 80% damaged. The cause was accidental.
The incident caused disruption to the traffic coming in and out of Burnham, with police diverting traffic around the scene. The roundabout was partially closed to give emergency vehicle access and allow recovery services to remove the vehicle.
