Over 200 athletes from across the region converged on Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (June 8th) for the town’s annual summer triathlon.
Organised by Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy, the Sprint Triathlon saw 197 athletes swim 20 lengths of the pool, complete a 20km cycle ride, and then pace around a 5km running route.
The event finished on Burnham beach, watched by crowds of spectators.
Jack Plummer from West Country Triathletes won the overall event in a fast time of 58 minutes and 40 seconds while the first lady home was Celia Miall. Full results here.
“I am super pleased with how it went – we had a fantastic turnout and a great morning of weathher,” co-organiser Mark Cox-Conklin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We had good support from local residents and our super marshalls did a good job.”
