Two Burnham-On-Sea Tae-Kwon-Do enthusiasts are celebrating after winning medals at the sport’s South West Championships over the weekend.
Members of Gemini Tae-Kwon-Do Club, who train at King Alfred School in Highbridge, competed in junior and adult classes at the South West Championships in Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday (February 5th).
The Burnham-On-Sea winners were Max Bradley (Team Sparring Silver) and Matthew Palfrey (Patterns Silver, Sparring Gold), pictured here.
Senior club instructor Jane Lambert told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There were over 400 students taking part in lots of different categories -we had entered four students in patterns, and sparring competitions. I was very pleased with how our students all performed.”
“They had all been so focused before the event and trained so hard – it is great that the hard work paid off.”
“We had one student competing for the first time, and we are really pleased that they came away with a bronze medal.”
“If you are looking for a great way to improve your fitness, make new friends and challenge yourself in 2017, Tae Kwon-Do is definitely the answer!”
Gemini Tae-Kwon-Do trains every Tuesday and Thursday at King Alfred School in Highbridge when men, women and children of all abilities are welcome.
