Dozens of cyclists peddled 200 miles across southern England from Sheerness to Burnham-On-Sea during a gruelling day-long riding challenge on Saturday (June 21st).
The 205-mile Chase The Sun event began at sunrise in Sheerness with the 170 cyclists passing across the whole country in soaring temperatures.
The first riders started to arrive in Burnham shortly before 6.30pm with the others finishing over the following four hours.
Among the local riders taking part were Daniel Stephens and Adam Meads, both from Burnham, and Christopher Ludlow from Berrow (pictured right).
Christopher told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was horrendously hot weather for cycling, but it was a fantastic feeling to finish it. The three of us actually ended up doing an extra 12 miles because we go lost going around London, but was a great experience!”
Adam was cheered in at the finish on Burnham seafront by his proud 93 year-old grandmother Jean Hatcher, who is a resident at Beaufort House.
