Firefighters tackled a blaze at a flat on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront last night (Monday).
Two fire appliances from Burnham were sent to reports of a fire within a property on the north Esplanade near Seaview Road at 7.11pm.
“Crews confirmed a basement flat was heavily smoke-logged and made entry through the front of the property,” said a spokesman.
“Crews used a hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. The cooker sustained approximately 50% damage by fire, while the rest of the property approximately 50% light smoke damage.”
The cause was accidental.
