Over a dozen traders will be selling a wide range of locally-grown food when Burnham-On-Sea’s monthly farmers market returns to the town thid Friday (June 27th).
The market will be held in the High Street from 9am-1pm with stalls offering local produce including pork, game, beef, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk.
Market co-ordinator Louise Hall said: “We’ll have Cheddar strawberries at the market this week, so come early to guarantee your share of the fruit!”
“Cliff Besley is one of the few remaining strawberry growers in Cheddar. He has a huge local loyal following and all his fruit is sold directly to the customer so can be picked at the peak of its flavoursome best fresh for the market.”
“I’m sure you all have favourite ways of enjoying strawberries, whether it’s fresh from the punnet before you even get home, in a gooey Eton Mess or served with cream!”
“You’ll also be spoilt for choice for cheses with soft goats cheeses from Wookey Farm and the usual wide selection from Times Past Dairy. As ever, our meat producers have BBQ-ready sausages and burgers, Taylors have the rolls and the Red Chilli Shop the accompanying sauces.”
Friday’s stalls will include:
