Heart attack won’t stop Burnham Panto Society’s Paul performing!
A member of Burnham-On-Sea’s Pantomime Society has an extra special reason to look forward to the group’s annual show next month, having suffered a serious heart attack just four weeks ago.
Paul Wynn, pictured, was rushed to Weston Hospital on November 13th after suffering the attack.
He was given an emergency operation when a coronary stent was fitted to his heart in a bid to save his life.
The surgery went well and now, after several weeks rest, Paul is recovering so well that is planning to play a lead role in Burnham Pantomime Society’s production of Sleeping Beauty in January when he will be the show’s dame.
Paul told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “I am so relieved the operation went well and just want to put it all behind me now.”
“I’ve taken part in many of the society’s shows over the years and wouldn’t want to miss this one, especially becuase I didn’t think I would be able to take part. I’m looking forward to having some fun as the dame.”
Paul – who runs the Barber’s Shop in Burnham High street – suffered the heart attack last month just days before he was due to perform in another show, called Brassed Off, a stage version of the award-winning film, in Street.
Paul said: “It was terrible timing just a few days before the show but fortunately the producer stepped in to learn my role at the last minute, enabling it to go ahead without me.”
Burnham Pantomimem Society’s Sleeping Beauty will be performed at Burnham’s Princess Theatre from January 28th-February 4th 2012. Tickets are on sale now from The Barber’s Shop at 7a The High Street in Burnham or by calling 01278 782723. Prices are £10 per adult, £8 per child/OAP and £25 per family.
