Burnham-On-Sea’s MP David Heathcoat-Amory was among 200 dignitaries, former service personnel and representatives from local groups who gathered at Burnham-On-Sea’s war memorial on Sunday morning (November 9th) to mark Remembrance Day.

Wreaths were laid by the town’s MP, Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Peter Burridge-Clayton, and other town leaders during the annual ceremony besides the War Memorial.

Two minutes’ silence was held at exactly 11am followed by the playing of the Last Post and a short ceremony led by Reverened Graham Witts. The procession then wended its way to St Andrew’s Church for a special service. Former servicemen and members of Burnham’s Royal British Legion also took part in the procession, alongside volunteers from the town’s emergency services.
