Burnham-On-Sea’s Monday club received a visit from the town’s Mayor this week when members celebrated Christmas with a special meal.
Cllr Michael Clarke visited the club in the Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close and this was followed by a Christmas meal in the Lighthouse pub, partly funded by sponsorship from Mencap.
The Monday Club was launched earlier this year by Julia Elswood and provides local people with learning difficulties the opportunity to meet and socialise.
Julia told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “On behalf of myself, the members, and my assisting volunteers, we would like to thank Mencap for their support for this most important emerging charity.”
