Dozens of the UK’s leading sand yachting enthusiasts will be in action on Brean beach this weekend, competing in the British Land Yachting Championships.
The two-day National Land Yacht Regatta is being organised by Brean Land Yacht Club and will be held on both Saturday March 25th and Sunday March 26th.
“Five different classes of Land yacht will be racing on the length of Brean beach,” Derek George, Brean Land Yacht Club Member, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“With a good wind these yachts can reach speeds in excess of 60 mph, with just the power of the wind making them an exciting environmental sport.”
Racing will get underway from 10.30am each day.
