A group of hardy Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers dashed into the icy waters of Bridgwater Bay on New Year’s Day to take part in a bracing charity sea dip!
Four swimmers took part in the sponsored event next to Burnham jetty to raise funds for rescue hovercraft charity BARB.
The participants waded into the water before taking an icy swim, watched by a crowd of almost 100 onlookers on the beach, as pictured here.
“It was a great opportunity to work off the excesses of Christmas while raising money for the charity,” said a BARB spokesman.
“Our thanks go to those who took part and those who sponsored them.”
The final sum raised will be known later in the month.
