A crowd of supporters flocked to Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens for an afternoon of cream teas and jazz on Sunday (July 27th).
Organised by Sedgemoor District Council’s Community Gardener, Jacqui Strong, the two-hour event in the seafront gardens was boosted by a day of good weather.
The Bob Reynolds New Society Jazz Band and the Berrow Hand Bell Ringers provided the entertainment for the crowd of over 200 people, who included Burnham MP Tessa Munt and Sedgemoor District Council’s Vice Chairman Ian Dyer.
Games and activities were also laid on free of charge to keep children entertained while a raffle operated by the Friends of Marine Cove helped to raise funds for future events.
“It was a great afternoon and it was nice to see so the gardens filled with super music and a good number of people during National Love Parks Week,” Jacqui told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
A further event will take place on Tuesday 29th July between 11am and 1pm. Residents are invited to bring along their digital cameras and take part in a family photography workshop session with the help of photographer Kimberley Taylor.
