Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club presents £3,700 to two local groups

-

Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club has presented thousand of pounds to the Friends of Burnham Hospital and the RNLI this week.

During a handover on Thursday evening, a cheque for £3,200 was presented to the Friends of Burnham Hospital from the proceeds of a Wassailing Evening at Rich’s Cider Farm in Watchfield and two Rotary Competitions at the South West Winter Fair last December.

A cheque for £500 was also presented to the RNLI from the funds raised at the Wassailing Evening.

Rotary Club President Mark Newbery told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a great example of Rotary working in partnership with local companies to raise funds for locally based charitable organisations.”

“The Rotary Club is grateful to Rich’s Cider Farm for the wassailing evening, and to Greenslade Taylor Hunt for the Rotary competitions at SW Winter Fair, with turkeys donated by Colin Reasons, and cash prizes donated by Burnham Funeral Services, and Ashley Edwards Funeral Directors, for their co-operation and use of their facilities, and to everyone else who worked hard to make the two events successful.”
