Police appeal for witnesses after two robberies at Burnham store

-

Police have appealed for witnesses after two robberies at a town centre shop in Burnham-On-Sea over the past week.

Officers are keen to speak to witnesses after the incidents at Peacocks clothes shop in Burnham High Street.

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The first incident, a burglary, occurred last Thursday (July 24th) at 9.30pm. A window was smashed to gain entry to the store and a quantity of clothing was stolen.”

“The second incident was a robbery that occurred on Saturday afternoon (July 26th) at 3.30pm. A man on a BMX bike rode into the shop and stole a quantity of clothing.”

Police says it it is too early to say whether there is a link between the incidents, but they are not ruling it out.

CCTV footage from a town centre camera nearby is being examined as part of the police investigation.

Anyone with information should call the police non-emergency number 101 and quote case reference 76357/14.
