Burnham lighthouse trail enters its final month as charity total climbs

-

There is now just a month remaining to complete Burnham-On-Sea’s mini lighthouse trail.

The 34 lighthouses are on display across the Burnham area until September when they will be auctioned off by sealed bids.

Organisers from Highbridge and Burnham Artists (HABA) say over £1,000 has been collected for charity since the start of the trail in June.

Mayor Cllr Martin Cox told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The trail has had a superb response so far and we hope lots of holidaymakers will have fun following the trail before it ends in September. It’s great that such a superb amount has been raised for charity so far.”

The Burnham Lighthouse Trail comprises 34 mini 6ft replicas of Burnham’s iconic beach lighthouse which are now at shops and businesses across the area.

They were built in Highbridge by volunteer Paul Plume. Trail maps are available to buy from the tourist information centre on Burnham’s seafront and participating shops.
