A final call for entries has been issued in the search for Burnham-On-Sea’s new Carnival Queen and Princesses.
The annual search for Burnham-On-Sea’s new Carnival Queen and Princesses is underway and entries have to be in by this Wednesday (April 19th).
Entries for the annual competition are being accepted now ahead of a special pageant evening at The Princess Theatre this Friday (21st April) from 7-9pm.
“We are looking for girls and ladies to participate in this prestigious event to be in with a chance of becoming the official 2017 Carnival Queen or Princess,” said co-organiser Tony Rees.
“The lucky winners will not only receive a photograph of themselves at the pageant, they will also receive prize money.”
“Winning the Carnival Queen and Princess Pageant provides individuals with an excellent opportunity to get involved more with their local community and to gain invaluable life experience. A great thing to put on your CV.”
Carnival Queen entrants must be 14 years old or over (there is no upper age limit). Carnival Princesses must be aged between 5-14 years.
All entrants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Carnival Queen entry fees are £10 and Carnival Princess entry fees are £6.
The Queen and Princesses will be required to participate in the 2017 Carnival Procession on Monday 6th November 2017. The Carnival Queen will also be expected to attend various events throughout the year, to include the Carnival Presentation Evening in January 2018.
