An afternoon of sunshine and great local food, drink and music was enjoyed at a special garden party in Burnham’s Manor Gardens on Sunday (August 17th).
The team behind the town’s popular Food & Drink Festival, Beverley and Sarah Milner Simonds, organised the inaugural event as a relaxed, free afternoon with local food and drink.
Sarah told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were really pleased that people came and supported this new event. The traders gave us very encouraging feedback and all those that gave up their time to perform on the bandstand were amazing.”
Beverley continued: “The weather was kind to us and after a rain-soaked set-up the sun shone all afternoon.”
“We wanted to create a relaxed afternoon with the opportunity for friends and family to come out into the park, enjoy some local food and drink with a soundtrack of live music. A big thank you from both of us to all those helped us create just that. We’re hoping to invite back these performers to the stage at the next town’s Food Festival on 25th October.”
