2009 Brean Rally: 31st January – 1st February
The popular motor rally roars back into action at Brean Leisure Park.

2009 Highbridge Festival of the Arts: March 4th-14th
The popular festival of the performing arts, now in its 62nd year, gets started on March 4th.


2009 British Sand Yachting Championships: March 21st/22nd and November 28/29th

The long sandy beach at Brean makes an ideal venue for this exhilarating sport. Come and watch the graceful land yachts wing their way across the sands.


2009 Burnham-On-Sea Aquathon: 8th March

Organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Acadamy, this event provides athletes with a chance to practice for the upcoming Burnham Triathlon.


2009 Burnham Triathlon: 14th June

The popular triathlon sees over 300 competitors tackle a gruelling course, including 20 lengths of Burnham pool, a 20km cycle and a 5km beach run. Organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Acadamy, it starts at Burnham Pool.


2009 Burnham Regatta Illuminated Boats Sail Past: 26th August

The annual, colourful sail-past of boats from Burnham Sailing Club in Bridgwater Bay. A must-see.


2009 Burnham-On-Sea Seafront Fireworks: Sunday 8th November

This popular seafront event was cancelled in 2007 due to bad weather and then faced a cash crisis in 2008, but sparked back into life. It’s scheduled for 8th November.


2009 Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival: Monday 9th November

The colourful carnival cavalcade returns to Burnham-On-Sea, featuring dozens of large illuminated carnival carts. Starts at 7.30pm.
