Council denies rumoured lifeguard cutbacks in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Sedgemoor District says there is “no truth whatsoever” to rumours that it will be reducing funding for Burnham-On-Sea’s lifeguards and beach wardens this summer.

The council said on Wednesday (February 1st) that funding for lifeguards in Burnham plus beach wardens at Berrow will remain the same as last year.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There is no truth whatsoever to the rumours. The funding will be the same as last year and the lifeguards will start at Easter as normal.”
