Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church will today (Tuesday) be starting its ninth annual children’s holiday club.
This year’s club is called Mega Makers and takes place from Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th August.
Each morning, from 10am to 12.15pm, at the Baptist Church building in College Street, there will be songs, messy games, stories from the Bible, craft and jokes.
This year’s theme is inventions and the church hall has been transformed into an inventor’s workshop, complete with a Mega Machine which has the power to turn small things into bigger things. During the week, this will help the children to find out how enormous God’s love is, say the event’s organisers.
Minister Rev Steve Ayers explained why the summer event is a highlight in the church’s year. “We always have such a good time at holiday club. The kids really get into the songs, games and everything that goes on – it’s a wonderful week for everyone, children and adults alike!” he said.
Places are still available for the Mega Makers event. The cost is £5 per child (to cover all four mornings) and there is a maximum charge of £10 per family. Parents and carers can register their children from 9.45am on Tuesday. Any further information can be found on the church’s Facebook page.
