The YMCA has re-opened its Burnham-On-Sea shop this week after a temporary three-week closure caused by flooding after a torrential rainstorm in early August.
The shop in Burnham High Street has been closed since August 5th when torrential rain caused flooding in several shops and businesses, as we reported here.
Wooden flooring in the shop was badly damaged by the water and had to be replaced at the busiest time of the year.
Ingrid Willis, area retail manager for YMCA in the south, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We are delighted that our Burnham shop is now finally re-open and would welcome as many donations as possible to make up for the shortfall over the past few weeks.”
“We look forward to catching up with regular customers and encourage anyone who hasn’t already paid us a visit to drop by.”
“The patience and support shown by the local community has been a huge support and it is great to be back in business.”
