Burnham-On-Sea theatre group to perform evening of short plays

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre Company will perform a series of short plays on Saturday 6th May at the town theatre.

‘PTC in Shorts’ is a revue of short pieces written by eight local writers.

“It should be called Murder, Mayhem and Marilyn,” says Oliver Hulme, who is one of the writers.

“We have the grotty Phat Larry, a pair of sarcastic sound engineers, Sid the hammy actor grieving the passing of his wife in solioquoys, an irate local councillor, a grandmother with uncoventional attitudes and many other characters from all walks of life.”

Lewis Coleman, another of the writers, adds: “We tackle some serious subjects, but mostly we play for laughs and have a bit of fun with it.”

Kim Cook, writer of two of the plays, added: “it’s great to get a chance to put on the pieces we write and hopefully this will inspire other local writers to join us. So far we’ve performed the work of 10 new writers in our community, but we know there are many more out there.”

Each play is around ten minutes long and there’s something for everyone. The show starts at 7pm and costs £6 a ticket, £4 for concessions.
