Burnham-On-Sea estate agents report rise in interest in town property

-

The property market in Burnham-On-Sea could be showing very early signs of a small recovery, according to estate agents in the town.

Several agents say there has been an uplift in interest from prospective buyers during recent weeks.

Nick Puddy from Saxons, based in the High Street, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There’s definitely been more interest now than in the last few months of 2008.”

“The phones have been very busy in recent days and we’ve secured some good sales during January.”

And David Baker of Abbott and Frost in College Street added: “There has been an increase in the amount of people registering their interest in recent weeks.”

“Traditionally, January is busier than normal for estate agents as people consider moving after the Christmas break, but this year has been better than expected.”

“With interest rates at low levels and property prices also very low, there are some buyers in Burnham taking advantage.”

And Andrew Stoppani of Applegates told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “January is usually busy, so we shouldn’t get too excited about a recovery, but I would say that viewings and offers are higher than expected.”

“We’re not disappointed with how things are going, although the market is still very price sensitive and it looks like being a difficult year ahead.”
