This was the scene in Berrow this morning (Monday, February 13th) following a two vehicle accident which is likely to prompt renewed calls for safety improvements.
Police and an ambulance crew were called to Coast Road at 7.30am after a green VW Golf ended up on its roof in a roadside ditch after being involved in a collision with a red coloured Renault, as pictured here.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to the scene at 7.30am and one person was taken by ambulance to Weston General Hospital. The injuries are not thought to be serious.”
Campaigners have long been calling on Somerset County Council to introduce a pavement along the stretch of road, arguing that fast-moving traffic poses a risk to pedestrians.
