A new job club which aims to help jobseekers in Highbridge find employment launched on Thursday (February 16th).
Homes in Sedgemoor and Sedgemoor Community Partnership have launched the free group, which will meet weekly at Morland Hall in Pearce Drive every Thursday from 10.15am until 12.15pm.
Computers are available for jobseekers to use to search for vacancies and also write applications and improve CVs. There will also be free advice on job interviews.
Highbridge County Councillor John Wooodman, who attended Thursday’s launch, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There is a great atmosphere at the group – it’s very welcoming and helpful and I hope it delivers great results for the people of Highbridge.”
Homes in Sedgemoor’s Chief Executive John Holman added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community of Highbridge to get some support and advice, especially as it can be a daunting experience finding or returning to work. We will help as many people as we can to access employment, training and volunteering opportunities in the local area.”
