A total of £2,100 was raised for three good causes when more than 170 people attended a fundraising race night in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (February 7th).

The event at the Oaktree Arena was jointly run for Burnham Medical Equipment Fund, Burnham Lions and the Somerset Speedway Riders Injury Fund.

Organiser Tom Ashton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very successful evening – we’re delighted to have raised £700 for each of the three charities – the Burnham Medical Equipment Fund, which will be putting its proceeds towards a set of new steps for disabled swimmers at Burnham swimming pool; Burnham Lions, which will be helping local good causes; and the Somerset Speedway Injury Fund, which will buy a new defibrillator. Many thanks go to everyone who attended and supported us.”
