-

Two Burnham-On-Sea schoolchilden have won a writing competition and will have their stories featured in a unique app available onboard coaches across the UK.

Several pupils at St Andrew’s School in Burnham-On-Sea entered the competition, which has been organised by National Express to promote the launch of their new on-board app, which is called VUER.

Two of the pupils, Freja Dandy, 10, and Tiggy Kelleher, 11, have been selected by a panel of judges to have their stories published.

The theme of the writing competition was ‘travel’ and the young entrants were invited to pen a short story of their choice, up to 1,000 words.

St Andrew’s Junior School’s Jim Gillard told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a national competition and we are very proud of the girls’ achievement.”

“Their reward will be to have their stories published on the VUER app which will be available on all National Express coaches.”

“The girls also received a signed book mark from Huw Powell, author of the Spacejackers series.”
