Burnham-On-Sea hospital to host ‘Dying Matters’ bereavement event

-

A unique event is to be held in Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday (May 24th) to mark a national awareness week that aims to place the importance of talking about dying, death and bereavement.

Dying Matters is a national coalition which aims to help people talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement and to make plans for the end of life.

“Every year in May, Dying Matters holds an awareness week to place the importance of talking about dying, death and bereavement firmly on the national agenda,” said Reverend Sharon Eldergill from St Andrew’s Church.

“As part of the awareness week, Burnham Memorial Hospital will be holding a cream tea in their conservatory on Wednesday May 24th from 2.30pm-4pm.”

The event is being jointly run by Burnham War Memorial Hospital, the Hospital chaplaincy team, Burnham Funeral Services and Rev Sharon.

“There will be an opportunity to talk about things that are important to you about life and death in an informal setting, with people on hand to offer support and questions about things that matter to you and your family. Come and have a cuppa and a chat!”
