One month to go until Burnham-On-Sea’s Food and Drink Festival

-

The countdown to the next Burnham-On-Sea Food and Drink festival is well underway with its return now just a month away.

The festival will see Victoria Street and the surrounding area filled with over 85 local food and drink traders.

There will also be farm animals and tractors for children to see and learn about the farming that happens in the fields around the town.

Festival organiser Sarah Milner Simonds said: “We have also invited buskers along to entertain visitors and there will be lots of seating around the festival to enable visitors to take the weight of their feet. One of the most popular places to take a break is always the KDS Fresh ideas stage in the Baptist Church, we have a great line up of chefs on stage from 1200.”

Fellow organiser Beverley Milner Simonds added: “I am looking forward to seeing the competitions. We have such amazing local bakers so the Great Burnham Bake Off is always a visual treat. The Great Burnham Brew Off entrants always look so nervous when their bottles are been tasted so that is a must see for me too. And of course there is the visual spectacle of our chilli eating and new hot chicken wings competitions on the College Street stage. I will be making sure I have a front row spot for the Great Burnham Burn Off.”

The organisers send their thanks to the residents and businesses in Victoria Street, College Street and Princess Street who work with them to ensure that the streets are free of any vehicles on the morning of the festival. Roads will be closed from 7am to 7pm on the day of the festival.
