Gary Cox, who is widely regarded as one of Britain’s top philosophers, will be talking at the group’s meeting on Wednesday 7th March at 7.30pm in Burnham Community Centre, Berrow Road.
Mr Cox is a published author many times over and an honorary research fellow at Birmingham University. His speciality is making the big questions of philosophy accessible to a wider public.
Burnham Philosophy Group’s Richard Franks told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Gary will be talking about his latest book, ‘The Existentialist’s Guide to Death, The Universe and Nothingness’, in which he takes the ideas of existentialism to a wider, non-specialist audience, emphasising the self-help and personal empowerment aspects of the theory with more than a nod to Douglas Adams.”
“This is a great opportunity for anyone who has an interest in philosophy or who just thinks they might have an interest in philosophy to hear an acclaimed author and speaker. It should be an entertaining and thought-provoking evening.”
Entry will be free for members of the group and £1.50 for non-members. For further information about the group and future meetings click here.
