Delighted staff at a Burnham-On-Sea craft shop are celebrating this week after scooping several top awards in a national competition for a fourth year running.
At the British Craft Awards in Birmingham, Material Needs in Burnham High Street was named the ‘Stitching Retailer Of The Year’ for the whole UK after attracting scores of votes from customers.
It also received awards for the ‘South West Stitching Retailer Of The Year’ and ‘South West Knitting Retailer Of The Year’.
The shop’s owners, John and Katharine Edwards, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday they are “extremely proud ” to have won the awards, which they received during a ceremony held at the NEC in Birmingham.
John said: “We are very proud that Material Needs has been recognised. These are tremendous achievements, not only for us at the shop, but for Burnham-On-Sea and Somerset.”
“They come with the hard work of our staff and services dedicated to serving the needs of customers, plus the considerable support of our customers. A big thank you goes to all those customers who voted for us. We are very grateful.”
Material Needs has won the overall retailer award for four years and has been named the best stitching retailer in the south west for six years from 2007 to 2012.
