It’s all grow for pupils as Highbridge school enters gardening contest

-

Green-fingered pupils at a Highbridge school are taking part in a nationwide growing challenge.

The Gro-Sure Challenge is encouraging children to grow their own vegetables from seeds and is taking place at more than 570 Asda stores across the UK and involving hundreds of nearby primary schools.

Churchfield Primary School in Highbridge has been nominated by the town’s Asda store to take part and its pupils have this week received their own Unwins Growing Kit which contains all they need to grow their own veg ahead of judging in June.

The initiative also intends to help boost the children’s understanding of where food comes from and to learn about healthy lifestyles and diet.
