Police in Highbridge are keen to speak to a mystery author of more than 50 letters containing information which outlines criminal activity in the area.
The police and Sedgemoor District Council have received anonymous letters over the past few months containing information concerning a drug dealer and several untaxed vehicles in Highbridge.
On Tuesday (March 10th), the Highbridge police team said they are keen to speak with the letter’s author and are urging them to come forward.
Sergeant Ian Kennett, pictured below, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I would like to meet or speak to whoever is sending these letters so that I can explain what we are doing in relation to the issues that are raised.”
“Two of the untaxed vehicles have already been removed and another is on private property and is not being driven on the road.”
“I would like to reassure the writer that their identity would not be revealed if they have information that they would like the police or council to have.”
“We are setting up a residents group for Highbridge Quay and are working the landlords and other partners to try and tackle antisocial behaviour and drugs in Highbridge.”
Following a recent Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting, it was agreed that tackling drugs related issues was to be a Neighbourhood Priority.
Anyone who has any information about drugs can speak in confidence with a member of the police team via the web, by calling 0845 4567000, or visiting a local police station.
