Council heads to court in bid to move Burnham seafront travellers

-

Sedgemoor District Council will be heading to court on Monday (June 5th) in a bid to move a group of travellers who are parked on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront lawns.

As first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here, legal proceedings are underway to move the group of travellers parked on Burnham-On-Sea’s Esplanade, as pictured here.

The vehicles arrived over the Bank Holiday weekend and have been parked opposite Burnham Sailing Club for several days.

Claire Faun, a spokeswoman for Sedgemoor District Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday: “We are in court on Monday, so hopefully they will go after that.”

She added that the Council has a “co-ordinated plan of action” to deal with travellers, but she cautioned that there are “statutory timescales” have to be abided by.
