House fire and sheep rescue keep Burnham-On-Sea fire crews busy

-

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters had a busy morning on Friday (October 3rd) when they were called to tackle a house fire and then rescue a stranded sheep.

The fire crews were initially called to Dorset Close in Highbridge at 8.50am to reports of smoke emerging from the windows of a domestic property.

“Crews made a forced entry into the property and extinguished a small fire inside using two breathing apparatus sets and a hose reel jet,” said a spokesman.

Later in the morning, at 10.50am, the Burnham crews were called to a field next to the Frank Foley Parkway, as pictured, where a sheep had got stuck in a water-filled ditch. They used water rescue equipment to release the animal.
